Accessibility of distance teaching and learning platforms used as catch up strategies amidst COVID-19 pandemic in rural areas

The study explored accessibility of distance learning platforms used as catch up strategies amidst COVID-19 pandemic in rural areas at two selected secondary schools Isoka district Zambia. This attempted to answer the research question ‘How accessible are learners like those district? employed a descriptive case design following qualitative approach. population comprised grade 12 boys’ and Muchinga district. Fifty (50) leaners were purposively sampled take part study. Qualitative data collected using open-ended questionnaires analysed thematically. Major findings that: (i) There was limited access during by some due reasons such as; lack technological devices gadgets smartphones, laptops, television sets radio, unstable internet access, insufficient power supply; (ii) no all, who literally had use online broadcasted lessons. As result, most experienced little or through pandemic. recommends that government partnership with cooperating partners other stakeholders should improve areas. is also need for ministry education find way providing tablets, so can them lessons predicaments
